CATUSED INSPECT PRIVACY STATEMENT
This privacy statement describes the personal information that we collect from through your use of CATUSED INSPECT (this "Application", this “app”) and how that information may be used and disclosed by us. This privacy statement does not apply to information that we collect through other means (e.g., other websites or other methods such as telephone calls), or to information collected on any other company or third-party site or application regardless of whether such site or application links to or is accessible from this Application. What personal information do we collect and how do we collect it?
We collect personal information that you enter into this Application and information about you from the Caterpillar Global Directory using your registered account information. This information may include the following:
· User ID
· Affiliation Code
· Affiliation Org Code
· CUPID
· Other unique account identification attributes from the Caterpillar Global Directory required for security authentication and authorization requirements
Additionally, this application collects other personal information that you may enter while using the application (e.g., information about your customers). The information you entered in the application may include:
· First Name
· Last Name
· Company Name
· Address
· Phone Number
Do we collect technical information and use electronic mechanisms such as ‘Cookies’?
After a successful login using the credentials provided, we store the session token on the device for multiple authentications with the server. This session token links to personal information that is available from the Caterpillar Global Directory using your registered account information. You may logoff immediately after the application usage should you choose not to store the token. Session token will become invalid once you logoff from the application. You will need to login to the application again using your CWS credentials to use the application.
How do we use the personal information?
We may use your personal information for the following business purposes:
· Access control (e.g., security authentication/authorization)
· Verification and account management
· Business related reporting
· Application-related management/administration activities
· Verification of third party license requirements
Additionally, we process the information you have entered on your behalf to enable you to manage equipment inspection data.
How do we protect personal information?
We utilize reasonable physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect. We follow Caterpillar's policies and procedures for the security of information. These policies and procedures are amended from time to time.
Will we disclose the personal information we collect?
We will share your personal information only with those within the Caterpillar extended enterprise (e.g., employees, dealers, and suppliers of Caterpillar and its joint ventures and alliances that have a legitimate business reason to access the information. Notwithstanding the above disclosures, we will disclose personal information when required or permitted by law or for purposes relevant to Caterpillar corporate policies.
How may I access my personal information?
You may view the relevant information we collect by going to the "My Information" option in CLUES. If you believe there are any inaccuracies in this information, please contact the HR or Enterprise Service Center at (309) 494-4357.
Your consent
By using this Application and thus engaging in a relationship with Caterpillar Inc., you consent to the continued collection and use of any information you provide in accordance with the purposes described in this privacy statement. Since this Application is available to individuals in a variety of global locations, you also consent to the transfer of your personal information to the United States of America and other countries or jurisdictions that may not provide the same level of data protection as the legal jurisdiction in which you are located.
Children
We do not want to collect or maintain information from those under the age of 13. No part of this Application is structured to attract anyone under the age of 13. By using this Application, you represent that you are not less than 13 years of age.
